Cookie policy
Information on the use of cookies pursuant to Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Italian Privacy Code) and the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy, the Italian version prevails. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the website visited stores in the user’s browser, to be read again on subsequent visits. They are used, for example, to make pages work properly or to remember some of the user’s choices. Similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, are treated in the same way.
2. Cookies used by this site
This site uses technical cookies only, which are necessary for it to work. It does not use profiling cookies or third-party cookies for advertising or statistical purposes. Visit statistics are collected without cookies, as described in the next paragraph.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| fb_consent | Stores the user’s cookie choices, so that the banner is not shown again on every visit | 6 months |
| wordpress_test_cookie | Checks that the browser accepts cookies; set only when opening the sign-in page of the private area | Session |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps the authenticated user signed in to the private area | Session (14 days with “Remember me”) |
| wordpress_sec_* | Protects authentication to the private area and to the site administration | Session (14 days with “Remember me”) |
| gestionale_ape | Maintains the session of clients signed in to the EPC portal (Gestionale APE) | Until the browser is closed; ends after 60 minutes of inactivity |
Technical cookies do not require the user’s consent.
Cookie-free visit statistics
To understand in aggregate form how the site is used (number of visits, pages viewed, referring site, device type and country of connection), the Independent Analytics plugin is used, installed on the site’s server. The tool does not set cookies or other identifiers in the user’s browser and does not transmit data to third parties: the information is processed and stored exclusively on the server hosting the site.
To distinguish visits, the IP address and browser type are converted into a code by means of an irreversible hash function, combined with a random value renewed every 24 hours; in this way the visitor cannot be recognised on subsequent days or identified. The data are used only in statistical and aggregate form, to improve the site’s content, and are not combined with other information. Because of these characteristics the processing does not require the user’s consent, in line with the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021 on analytics tools with characteristics similar to technical cookies.
Fonts, social icons and private area
Fonts (Google Fonts). The site’s typeface, Instrument Sans, is distributed under a free licence through Google Fonts, but it is hosted directly on the site’s server: the pages do not connect to Google’s servers, the visitor’s IP address is not transmitted to Google and no cookie is set.
Social network icons. The Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn icons are simple links to the practice’s profiles: they do not load scripts, buttons or content from the social networks and do not set cookies. Only if the user clicks an icon is the corresponding platform opened, which applies its own cookie policy.
Private area and EPC portal. The technical authentication cookies listed in the table are set only for those who sign in to the private area or the EPC portal (Gestionale APE) with their own credentials, solely to keep them securely signed in. Visitors who simply browse the site do not receive them.
3. How to give and change your choices
On the first visit the site displays a banner that allows you to accept all cookies, reject optional ones or choose, with the “Customise” button, which categories to enable. Closing the banner with the X keeps only the necessary cookies. Optional statistics or third-party cookies are set only after consent.
Your choices are kept for 6 months, after which the banner is shown again, and they can be changed at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
4. Third-party content
The site does not embed third-party content that sets cookies, such as maps, videos or social network buttons. The fonts are also hosted on the site’s servers and are not loaded from external services.
5. How to manage cookies from the browser
The user can at any time view, block or delete cookies from their browser settings. Blocking technical cookies may prevent some parts of the site from working correctly, for example sending the contact form. Instructions are available on the websites of the main browser makers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
6. Data controller
The data controller is Francesco Battista, Architect (Studio di Architettura), Via Padre Alessandro Di Meo 2, 83100 Avellino, Italy, VAT no. IT02472040647, who can be contacted at architetto@francescobattista.it. For full information on the processing of personal data and on the user’s rights, please refer to the Privacy policy.
7. Changes
This notice is updated whenever the cookies used by the site change. If third-party analytics or profiling cookies were introduced in the future, the site would ask for the user’s consent through the banner before setting them, and this notice would be updated with their list.
